A Month of Devotional Thought — Poseidon, Day 26

Today’s topic is the “mirror image” of the one from yesterday. It is about a time when Poseidon REFUSED to help.

Interestingly enough, it has to do with Katrina as well. Although Poseidon blessed me with not being in an area that was flooded, he left me to my own devices AFTER the storm had passed. I know that Poseidon is like the other Theoi in that way. He tends to help people in situations where they can cannot help themselves, but not helping them if they CAN do so.

After Katrina, until I was evacuated, it was still a emergency situation in human terms, but not in divine ones. Poseidon expected me to handle things for myself.
