I will be having to play “catch-up” with several entries as I was informed in meditation that I needed to take time for the three days (before, on, and after) of the Solar Eclipse to focus more on my relationship with some of the Titanes in meditation and experience. The results of this will be a separate post after I make the “missing” posts right.
This entry is about the qualities or attributes of Poseidon that I find the most troubling. It is his unforgiving nature, which is very like the sea when it is harsh. Poseidon was the main reason that the protagonist of the Iliad was away from his home for an additional ten years after the end of the Trojan war. He took vengeance not only on Odysseus, but his entire crew after the blinding of Polyphemus — who in fairness WAS trying to EAT Odysseus and his men.
It is this “hardness” that is difficult for me, when he also includes people in his vengeance that were not at fault for the offense.
This is why I was initially less than pleased to learned he had chosen me. In additional fairness, however, Odysseus completely blew off xenia by allowing his men to just barge in and makes themselves at home without so much as a by-your-leave. Neither host nor guest acted remotely appropriately, but perhaps Poseidon thought his son had gotten his comeuppance for his overreaction with the blinding.
No matter the interpretation of that tale, it’s best not to forget how unforgiving the sea can be.

I agree. Being called by Poseidon in addition to all three of his sisters is not easy
