A Month of Devotional Thought — Poseidon, Day 2

This post is supposed to be about how I first became aware of Poseidon. But, for me, this post is more about how I became aware that I was ALREADY aware of Him. For all of my life, I have felt a tie to the waters of the world and I really don’t remember a time when this was not the case. It was not until I was about 8 or 9 though that I had a NAME to go with this.

I know that I have mentioned the D’aulairie’s Book of Greek Myths in posts about some of the other Elder Olympians, and the reason for this it that there were not many books involving the Hellenic Theoi that were written for children in the 1970’s that were not actually written in Greek (which I didn’t read very well at the time). This was a colorful introduction to the Hellenic Theoi that I plan on sharing with my own daughter as it is actually a good book for an introduction.
