If we are truly going to invite the Theoi into our lives, it follows that we give what we have available to them regularly. In my case, when I noticed that I would almost always ask visitors if they would like a cup of coffee or a snack as soon as they arrived, I started thinking that a daily offering of coffee to the Theoi might be an appropriate one. Shortly after I started doing this, Hestia made it plain that the coffee should be offered to her with the incense I was offering at the same time being appropriate for all of the Olympians.
This actually has lead to a close friend of ours who is a Icelandic Pagan actually being woken up to prepare and offer coffee while visiting us. He said that he had a feeling that because I was not up yet to fix it, that he should do it.
It is things like the story that I just related that lead me to the firm belief that our Theoi don’t “need” traditional Greek offerings as long as it relates in some way with their nature. (Yes, another UPG)
